Shane attributes his success to his experience, service, and attention to detail, as he treats each client as if they are #1, regardless of the amount or size of the transaction.  Shane excels at providing his clients with a marketing outlet for local, regional, national and global exposure on his prized listings.

Originally from Chicago, Shane attended Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University where he graduated with his business degree in Business / Resort Management. Shane has had the opportunity to live in and enjoy the different experiences of the Southwest including stays in Scottsdale & Flagstaff, AZ and the vast expanses of Big Bend National Park, TX where he worked on development projects for the National Park Service and Forever Resorts.

After a successful career in hospitality properties, Shane focused on brokering real estate and finance transactions in Southwestern Colorado. Upon relocating to Durango, Shane worked on numerous land development projects and large acreage ranch sales at a top wholesale ranch development company before joining the Horizon Properties team. 


About Heather Russell Dawson

Heather enjoys working with Buyers moving to the Durango area and finding just the right property for them.  Heather has an extensive business background as a corporate paralegal for one of Green Bay, Wisconsin's largest and most successful law firms.  Heather also owns and operates Four Seasons Vacations Rentals where she pairs homeowners and qualified vacation renters with properties on a short-term basis.

Heather grew up in Michigan, where she graduated from Lake Superior State University with a Bachelor's degree in Paralegal studies. She worked as a paralegal in Grand Rapids, MI and Green Bay, WI for nearly 13 years, where she specialized in mergers & acquisitions, real estate transactions, drafting contracts, general corporate matters and intellectual property law.  Heather worked closely with top executives at Fortune 500 companies; the largest transaction she worked on was $90 Million.

Upon moving to Durango, Colorado Heather joined Shane Dawson's team. Heather enjoys the variety the real estate business has to offer, as it compliments her extensive business and legal background while giving her a creative outlet in the development of databases, marketing tools, and advertisements. 


OUTDOOR ADVENTURES & TRAVEL
Shane and Heather enjoy spending time with their son, Kelley, at every opportunity. They enjoy hiking, biking, flyfishing and rafting in the mountains & rivers of Southwestern Colorado.  They are also avid scuba divers with recent underwater trips to Panama, Bonaire and Roatan, Honduras.  The Dawson's were recently married in Rome, Italy.
